For Immediate Release
Cramerton Police arrested Gregory Scott Castle, 35, of 351 Lake Arrowhead Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC on Friday, March 31, 2006 for breaking, entering and larceny. Castle is accused of unlawfully entering a golf equipment storage room and taking over $5,000.00 worth of property.
Employees of Cramer Mountain Country Club reported the break-in and larceny to police in early February after finding the equipment of its’ patrons missing from the secured area where it was stored. Surveillance video from the country club showed Castle removing the property from the storage area but police had not been able to identify him until Friday. Country Club employees again notified Cramerton Police on Friday when an employee recognized Castle, who was again on the property, as the man from the surveillance video. Castle fled the area when confronted by the employee. Cramerton Police Captain Chris Baxter located Castle on Wilkinson Boulevard just outside of Cramerton. Castle attempted to elude police but was apprehended in Belmont. Castle was identified as the offender on the surveillance tape and was charged with the crimes. A magistrate placed castle in the Gaston County Jail under a $12,500.00 secured bond. |
