Police Make Arrests in Armed Robbery Investigation

     Cramerton Police have made arrests in an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Times Turn Around, 3703 South New Hope Road.  Store employees reported to police that two black males, both wearing bandannas covering their faces, entered the store just after 10 P.M. and demanded money and took cigarettes from shelves behind the counter.  One of the two suspects held a store clerk at gun-point while the other gathered the cigarettes.

     Cramerton Police charged Avis Montavis Armstrong, 19, 131 Floyd Drive, Gastonia; Eric Jerome Sykes, 20, 1204 Old 27 Highway, Mount Holly; and Jacqui Chavez Worthy, 18, 2101 Lowell Bethsda Road, Gastonia each with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon early Wednesday morning.  All three were held in the Gaston County Jail.  Armstrong was held on a $35,000 secured bond, Sykes was held on $50,000 secured bond, and Worthy was held on $25,000 secured bond.
