Cramerton Police are investigating a deadly motor vehicle crash that occurred Sunday, September 23, 2007 at approximately 6:00 P.M. on the South Fork River Bridge of Wilkinson Boulevard.
Jeffrey W. Shroyer, 50, of 80 Church Street, Edgewood, New Mexico was killed when the motorcycle he was riding crossed the median into westbound traffic and struck head-on a vehicle being driven by Ronald Dasher, 58, of Gastonia. Dasher was transported by ambulance to Carolina’s Medical Center where he was treated and released for injuries sustained in the crash. Dasher’s passengers in the vehicle were not injured. Shroyer’s passenger on the motorcycle, Kimberly L. Shroyer, 46, of Prattville, Alabama was airlifted to Carolina’s Medical Center and was listed in stable but serious condition at the time of this release.
Wilkinson Boulevard was closed between Lakewood Road and Market Street for approximately three hours while officers investigated the crash. At this time it is unknown why Shroyer’s motorcycle crossed the median. Speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Investigators will await toxicology results to determine if alcohol was a factor.
